Hi,

I'm ForeverRent and I'm a GWM in my 40s. I have many heterosexual friends
who went through divorces and they lost everything. Their houses, their
money and their kids. Some of them have to work just for their ex-wives and
the kids. Two of the men already comitted suicide, another one is in prison,
because he wasn't able to pay alimony and child-support.

All the men have sworn, never to marry again.

Heterosexual marriage doesn't last and if a marriage is divorced, the males
usually lose everyting.

So heterosexual marriage is a BAD option for men. It's only good for female
golddiggers and women who want kids, but no husbands, since the law supports
women becoming single moms.

The gay couples, on the other side, are very faithful. Gay and lesbian
people do rarely cheat on their partners, the relationships are more equal
and the men are equal partners, usually both of them being breadwinners,
while in heterosexual marriages, the man has to work and the woman also
works, but she takes all the money for herself and the husband is nothing
but a slave.

Gay marriage is common in Europe and it works very well. There are less
"golddiggers" and the relationships are more stable. Men and men share the
same interests, women and women share the same interests.

So IMO the US *needs* a country-wide gay marriage. Gays should have the same
rights as heterosexual couples.

Since homosexuality is common in nature, a modern society needs to accept
gay marriage.

I think gay marriage will improve the situation for men. Instead of marrying
a woman and losing everything in a divorce, men should be able to marry a
man.

As I've said before, gay relationships are more equal. In a gay
relationship, both men share the household chores and both men work. The man
isn't a slave in such a relationship.

I'm for gay marriage in the US!

If it is so good, why do you need to keep repeating it? It means that you
aren't convinced --really. All marriages have their ups and downs. I am
not against gay marriage if it suits the parties. Criticizing heterosexual
marriage doesn't necessarily mean that gay marriage is the answer. I am
happily married to a woman. We have our fights, and several times I have
wanted to clear out, but we are still together. I don't want gay marriage
to be the preferred marriage, only on a level. There have been some strong
gay and lesbian marriages, and I wouldn't want to take it away from them.

I am against the idea that one can choose one's sex and be one or the other
at will. Gender identity is important for a balanced development. People
who grow up with strong same-sex friendships make the best marriage
partners. A man lost his father when he was very young. When he married he
said "I just don't know how to be a father." He wouldn't have learned how
to be a husband, either. I wonder if the number of single-parent families
is behind the drive for same-sex relationships, but you prejudiced types
don't like reasons. A guy on a psychology newsgroup wanted to change from a
Type A to a Type B personality. He was "sure it could be done." He was
told that it was impossible. He had struck one of the limits on "nowadays,
anything is possible." Change of gender is another.

The question of gay marriage being on a level with hetero marriage has legal
and social issues. Social acceptance will take time. In Australia,
marriage is a federal matter. The Australian Constitution probably doesn't
permit gay marriage, but the States can do it, as in the U.S. and at least
one State has, only they can't call it marriage. That law provides for
registration only, with no change of legal status or property rights.

I think the Catholic Church produces tremendous people, but to be at the
top, or anybody in the Church, you have to leave the continuation of the
species to others, who are by definition, "inferior." This guy is the same.
It doesn't add up, in either case.
