Far from its powerful beginnings in 1998, the internet “seduction
community” now personifies the old song lyrics from The Who’s “Won’t
Get Fooled Again”: “Meet the new boss…same as the old boss.” What
began as a truly countercultural movement has devolved into an
overcommercialized industry that now offers the same useless advice it
used to refute.
Originally, the pickup artists (PUAs) talked about how the media was
all wrong about what is required to seduce women, and correctly
attacked the conventional wisdom of the day, that using money and
status to get laid was the easy way out, not “game,” and not something
a “true PUA” should engage in. Fast-forward to today and the “gurus”
seem to all be teaching exactly what they used to criticize.
A centerpiece of modern seduction theory is the “DHV,” or
“demonstration of high value.” The theory is that women seek out
“alpha males,” with whom they have sex, and that men who convince
women they have this value, whether or not they actually do, will get
laid. While this is true on the surface, it buries an inconvenient
truth: that attracting a woman to your “lifestyle” is not the same as
attracting her to YOU. Indeed, “lifestyle game” is just a euphemism
for BUYING WOMEN.
PUAs often make excuses by noting that men need to develop themselves
in all areas of their lives, but this too is false. While rich “alpha
male” types get laid, many also get ruined by the women they lay
(check the headlines), because the women are not fundamentally
attracted to them. The real PUAs are the men who get laid WITHOUT
MONEY, not those who pretend to have “game” while denying the role
played by their resources.
In short, a woman who is attracted to your lifestyle will never be
loyal to you, while one who is attracted to you will never betray
you. I laugh at men who have noted my lack of (relative) wealth, as
I’ve never needed money to attract women. These men, who need
resources to engage in thinly-veiled prostitution, simply lack the
REAL game that allows a man to not have to conform to societal norms
to get the hottest women on earth.
The best results I ever had with women came when I did not have a
regular job, but instead was an “aspiring world chess champion,” whose
behavior was completely congruent (1987-1991), and again when I had
stopped working in corporate America, instead choosing to blaze a
trail on the internet (1994-1998 and beyond). In each case, I was an
ARTIST, a man who did not punch a time clock, and was INTERESTING to
the “super-elite” women who are unmoved by the millions of men with
“decent” jobs and “their own place to live” (I lived with Mom for many
years; she died in 2007), as if an SHB who can have the wealthiest men
on earth would be dazzled by some guy with a 50k income and a small
house. Look up George Sodini to see just how flawed that logic is.
During my prime, my worst results by far came when I was steadily
employed, spending my days in offices, and my evenings blowing off
steam in predictable venues, at predictable times. Absent were the
chance meetings of women like SHBJoffrey on Amtrak, Le Club at the
home of my “road family” for chess tournaments, SHBDancer (another
chess groupie), SHBTakeout, SHBRaver (who I met online and laid during
a midweek rendezvous), and so forth.
The reason the community teaches “lifestyle game” is that it is
PROFITABLE and EASY to do so. High-earning men not only get laid the
easiest, but they can also afford the ridiculous prices for bootcamps
or other materials such as high-priced DVDs. They think they are
being well-taught because what they are taught is what they already
agree with – that using money and lifestyle to get laid is “game” – so
they don’t question their teaching. The gurus then take credit for
their “results,” like a rooster taking credit for the sunrise, when
all they’ve really done is purchased the affections of a golddigger.
Compounding the problem is that the “lifestyle PUA” often thinks he
has “game” because he overcomes the artificial resistance of the
social-climbing golddiggers he attracts, resistance put there solely
to preserve her reputation, with the outcome having been rigged from
the get-go. The true PUA, one who doesn’t have to rely on lifestyle
(as evidenced by his lack of wealth etc.) attracts women on an
entirely different level.
As an aspiring PUA, you have two choices: you can take the easy way
out, by equating money and status with the ability to attract women,
or you can actually learn how to ATTRACT women, which not only
precludes the need for you to have money, but which will also ensure
that even if you do become a lifestyle PUA, that the women you
“purchase” will actually LIKE you, and be far less likely to betray
you, or even attempt to destroy you.
